We are excited to announce the launch of our neighborhood cleanup initiative, an idea that came out of our recent meetings! Under our “The Giving Back Project by People from Overseas”, we currently organize a weekly cleanup across Chuo Ward together with people from overseas whom we support. Launched this past July, the initiative focuses on picking up litter along public streets and in local parks as a tangible, grassroots way to give back to the community.
While the work is quiet and physically demanding, it has brought moments of real connection. Local children have approached the team with warm words like, “Thank you for cleaning up!” We believe these small, genuine interactions are key to fostering mutual trust and lasting ties with our neighbors.
Public discourse around people from overseas often becomes polarized. Through initiatives like this, we hope to highlight the dedication and positive contributions that so many people from overseas make to Japanese society every day.
We remain committed to taking steady, concrete steps toward a cohesive community where residents of all backgrounds can live together harmoniously and respectfully.
