We held an Islamic cultural event in Saga prefecture on December 8th in 2024. Under the theme of “Let’s get to know each other!” those with various ages and national origins participated.
In the event, Mr. Sugimoto from Chiba Islamic Cultural Center gave a lecture about Muslim attitudes, customs, food cultures like “halal.” Some participants asked questions about daily concerns such as if it is OK to invite Muslims to eat out or drink and many Japanese participants said they deepened their understanding of Islam culture. Also, participants from Indonesia treated us to Indonesian food. With a friendly atmosphere, the event ended up as a step toward multicultural coexistence at Saga.
